625 FXUS62 KMFL 072325 AFDMFL Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Miami FL 625 PM EST Fri Feb 7 2025 ...New AVIATION... .SHORT TERM... (This afternoon through Saturday) Issued at 1127 AM EST Fri Feb 7 2025 Deep layer ridging with light easterly surface level background winds will prevail into the weekend. Relatively dry conditions will allow lows to fall into the 60s across south Florida each night, with highs into the 80s each day. && .LONG TERM... (Saturday night through next Thursday) Issued at 305 PM EST Fri Feb 7 2025 Persistent ridging will continue for most if not all of the long term period, highlighted in long term ensemble guidance. Due to this, any approaching troughs or areas of low pressure and their associated frontal boundaries will be blocked from reaching the South Florida region and dry weather will continue. Temperatures are expected to be above normal most days with highs in the low to mid 80s, although interior areas could see days with upper 80s for highs later in the week. Overnight lows will generally be in the 60s most nights, although as temperatures warm up further through the week the east coast will see lows in the low 70s mid to late next week. && .AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 620 PM EST Fri Feb 7 2025 L/V winds will prevail overnight with the potential of patchy fog at KAPF and inland terminals between 09z-13z, which may result in sub MVFR cig/vis.
