894 FXUS64 KMEG 060215 AFDMEG Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Memphis TN 915 PM CDT Sat Oct 5 2024 ...New UPDATE... .UPDATE... Issued at 910 PM CDT Sat Oct 5 2024 Skies are mostly clear across the Mid-South this evening with temperatures in the mid 60s to mid 70s. With clear skies and light winds expected overnight, some patchy areas of fog may develop. Will update forecast to remove evening wording. ARS && .SYNOPSIS... Issued at 305 PM CDT Sat Oct 5 2024 Dry weather will continue for the foreseeable future, with highs generally in the 80s today and tomorrow. A bit cooler conditions return on Monday through the rest of next week, with high temperatures in the mid 70s. && .DISCUSSION... (This evening through next Friday) Issued at 305 PM CDT Sat Oct 5 2024 Beautiful day across the Mid-South with mostly sunny skies and temperatures into the 80s. Dew point temps remain in the 60s so things do remain a bit on the muggier side. Similar conditions expected overnight as last night with clear skies and calm winds. There could be some patchy fog in those fog-prone areas, clearing shortly after sunrise. Can essentially copy and paste today into tomorrow as our upper-level pattern remains largely the same. Expect for high temperatures in the 80s, with maybe even a few locations across N. MS reaching the 90s. By Monday, upper-level trough will begin to deepen over the eastern half of the U.S, allowing for northwest flow to return to the Mid-South. Weak frontal boundary will pass through the overnight Sunday into Monday, allowing temperatures to fall back to below normal for much of next week. Beginning on Monday, expect for high temperatures generally spanning the 70s with overnight temperatures in the 50s. Dew point temperatures will be much lower next week, spelling for a very fall-like week as we move further into October. Looking at some of the guidance even into next weekend, there does not appear to be any rain chances for the foreseeable future. && .AVIATION... (00Z TAFS) Issued at 615 PM CDT Sat Oct 5 2024 VFR conditions should continue for much of the forecast period. Some patchy areas of fog may develop overnight but little fog is expected at the TAF sites. Winds will be light and variable tonight before becoming northwest around 5 knots as a cold front moves into the region late Sunday afternoon. && .MEG WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... AR...None.
