Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
140 AM CDT Thu Aug 21 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Min RH above critical 15%, good to excellent overnight recovery,
and fuel ERCs below 75th percentile with continued vegetation
greenery all maintain low fire weather. There is still a low
probability of fire starts from lightning and gusty, erratic winds
in any storms, but high fuel moisture and greenery will limit
ignition, intensity, and spread of any flames.

Matrix product issued by the Midland/Odessa National Weather
