Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
148 PM CDT Fri May 9 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Below normal temperatures, above critical relative humidity, and light
winds keep fire weather concerns low through the weekend. ERCs stay
below the 50th percentile for much of the region over the next several
days thanks to recent rainfall. By next week, hotter temperatures
accompanied by dry and breezy/windy conditions are in the forecast.
This may bring elevated to near-critical fire weather mainly over
areas west of the Pecos River. However, recent rainfall may help keep
fire weather concerns generally low.
