Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
154 AM CDT Mon Sep 30 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Even with warmer than average temperatures, min RH at or below
critical 15% west of the Pecos River and TX/NM border, no
measurable rain chances into next week and gusty winds possible
Tuesday, fire weather conditions remain low as ERCs remain at or
below the 50th percentile from wetting rains in late August and
early September. Good overnight recovery and relatively light
winds outside of frontal passages will keep fire risk low, even as
ERCs increase as fuels dry out in the warmer and drier than
average weather.
