Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
204 PM CST Fri Feb 7 2025

.DISCUSSION...

An RFD remains in effect this afternoon in Southeast New Mexico and
adjacent parts of West Texas for critical minRHs combined with
increasing 20ft westerly winds and ERCs above the 50th percentile.
Elevated to near-critical fire weather conditions are expected to
persist tomorrow, and additional RFDs may be necessary for the same
areas. A front Saturday, along with increasing minRHs, will help
temper fire weather concerns for much of the area through early next
week, though locations beyond the mountains will remain warm and dry.
