Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
149 PM CST Sun Dec 7 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns are generally low through the period. MinRHs
trend below critical values south and west of the Pecos by the
middle of the week. ERCs also begin to trend closer to/just above
the 50th percentile by the middle of the week, and temperatures
rise above normal. Overnight recoveries will become poor south and
west of the Pecos and good elsewhere. Gusty winds in the Guadalupes/
Delawares look to be the primary concern to monitor Tuesday. Elsewhere,
critical minRHs don`t overlap strong 20ft winds, limiting fire weather
concerns.

For point-specific forecasts please see the Point Fire Weather
Matrix product issued by the Midland/Odessa National Weather
Service Office.
