FIRE DANGER STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LITTLE ROCK AR
347 AM CST Fri Mar 7 2025

...ELEVATED WILDFIRE THREAT POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON...

An elevated wildfire threat may develop later today as gusty
southwest winds return to the region.

Relative humidity values will drop to between 25 and 35 percent
over a large part of north-central and west-central Arkansas later
today. In addition to the drier air, southwest winds of 15 to 25
mph are expected and may gust to as high as 30 mph over these same
areas. This combination of gusty winds, warm temperatures, and
low humidity values will lead to an elevated wildfire threat.

A cold front will move into northwest Arkansas this evening, with
winds shifting to the northwest behind it. Much cooler air will
move into the area behind the front.

If a wildfire is observed, report it by dialing 911, or contact
the Department of Agriculture Forestry Division at (800) 468-8834.
