...New AVIATION...

.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Monday)
Issued at 241 PM CDT Sat Oct 5 2024

A large area of upper high pressure continues over much of the
central and south U.S. An upper low will traverse across the
Canadian border through the period. The upper high in the southwest
U.S. will expand east into the Plains for Sunday and Monday.

Surface high pressure is centered over Texas. This high pressure
will move into Arkansas Sunday and then into Tennessee Monday. This
will keep warm and dry air over Arkansas Sunday. A dry cold front
then moves through the state Sunday night. This will bring slightly
cooler and drier air to the state. Temperatures will be cooler on
Monday.

Lows tonight are expected in the lower to mid 60s and upper 40s to
mid 60s Sunday night. Highs Sunday will be in the mid 80s to mid
90s and then in the mid 70s to lower 80s on Monday.

.LONG TERM...
(Monday Night through next Saturday)
Issued at 241 PM CDT Sat Oct 5 2024

High pressure is expected to control the weather pattern through
much of the period. This will promote calm and dry conditions. Due
to the extended period of dry conditions, it goes without saying
that drought conditions will likely worsen through at least a good
portion of October.

Temperatures are expected to be comfortable across the state through
the period with highs in the mid 70s to mid 80s. Overnight lows are
expected to be in the mid 40s to mid 50s.
