The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Chesapeake Bay from Drum Point MD to Smith Point VA...
  Chesapeake Bay from North Beach to Drum Point MD...
  Patuxent River to Broomes Island MD...
  Tangier Sound and the inland waters surrounding Bloodsworth
  Island...

* Until 815 PM EDT.

* At 649 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from near Flag Harbor to near Broomes Island to near
  Saint Clements Bay, moving east at 20 knots. Additional strong to
  severe thunderstorms will move across the waters from Southern
  Maryland and the Northern Neck of Virginia.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 48 knots.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly
           higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could
           suffer significant damage in high winds.

* Locations impacted include...
  Greenwell State Park, Hooper Island Light, Saint Leonard Creek,
  Smith Island, Crisfield, Deep Hole, Nanticoke River Mouth,
  Southwest Middle Grounds, Ewell, Cuckold Creek, Tangier Sound, Drum
  Point, Point No Point, Honga River, Fishing Bay, The Targets,
  Richland Point Buoy, Bivalve, and Deal Island.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are
expected.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
