The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Chesapeake Bay from Drum Point MD to Smith Point VA...
  Tangier Sound and the inland waters surrounding Bloodsworth
  Island...
  Tidal Potomac from Cobb Island MD to Smith Point VA...

* Until 915 PM EDT.

* At 813 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
  waterspouts was located near Ewell, moving north at 30 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and waterspouts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Boaters in small craft could be thrown overboard by
           suddenly higher winds and waves capsizing their vessel.
           Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
           hazardous seas.

* Locations impacted include...
  Hooper Island Light, Smith Island, Deep Hole, Nanticoke River
  Mouth, Southwest Middle Grounds, Ewell, Tangier Sound, Honga River,
  Fishing Bay, Bivalve, Richland Point Buoy, Deal Island, and
  Crisfield.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are
expected.

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.
