Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC
150 AM EDT Thu Aug 21 2025

Here is a look at the weather features that will affect the region
over the next several days.

The frontal system that has been meandering nearby is pulling away
from the area this morning. At the same time, Hurricane Erin is
forecast to remain well offshore while pulling away from the
Carolina coast. The combination of these two systems will bring
breezy northerly winds to the area today.

Weak high pressure returns to the area by Friday before a cold
front approaches from the west over the weekend. This system
increases shower and thunderstorm chances before exiting the
region by early Monday. Below normal temperatures are likely next
week as a strong dome of high pressure moves in from the Midwest.
