Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC
1231 PM EDT Fri May 16 2025

Here is a look at the weather features that will affect the region
over the next several days.

A low pressure system will track across the Great Lakes region
through Saturday. At the same time, the trailing cold front will
likely cross the area by Saturday afternoon and evening. There
could be multiple rounds of showers and strong to severe
thunderstorms in the region this afternoon into tonight.

Behind the cold front, high pressure briefly builds in before a
secondary front pushes through early Monday morning. High pressure
builds to the north early next week before the next frontal system
approaches from the west by mid-week. This brings the next round
of potentially heavier rainfall.
