Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC
1235 AM EDT Mon Sep 30 2024

Here is a look at the weather features that will affect the region
over the next several days.

An upper low, which absorbed the remnants of Hurricane Helene,
will slowly push toward the area during the next couple of days.
This maintains daily rain chances through Tuesday. Some of the
rain may become locally heavy at times, particularly across
central Virginia westward to the Alleghenies.

A cold front crosses through the region Wednesday morning which
brings drier weather in its wake. High pressure builds in through
late in the week before another cold front tracks across the area
early Saturday. Cooler weather is expected over the weekend as a
strong high pressure system settles over the northeastern U.S.
