.DISCUSSION...

Dry conditions are expected the rest of this morning and into
midday across the event location. Temperatures will climb from
the low to mid 80s this morning into the low 90s this afternoon.
Humidity will remain high as well yielding heat index values of
103 to 106 degrees between noon and 6pm today. WInds will remain light
out of the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop this
afternoon as a result of a piece of energy and cold front sinking
south into the region. Some storms could be severe with locally damaging
winds and instances of flash flooding as the primary concerns. For that
reason, a Flood Watch remains in effect for the event location from
2pm this afternoon through 11pm this evening. Rain rates up to two
inches per hour are possible with thunderstorms today.

As for timing, expected storms to develop between 3-5pm. The
highest coverage of storms looks to occur between 5-9pm as the
piece of shortwave energy pushes east. Thunderstorm coverage will diminish
after midnight with lows falling into the mid to upper 70s.
