270 WHUS41 KLWX 161954 CFWLWX Coastal Hazard Message National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC 354 PM EDT Fri May 16 2025 DCZ001-162300- /O.EXT.KLWX.CF.W.0001.000000T0000Z-250516T2300Z/ District of Columbia- 354 PM EDT Fri May 16 2025 ...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Two to three feet of inundation above ground level in low lying areas due to tidal flooding. * WHERE...Shoreline in the District of Columbia, especially in the vicinity of Georgetown. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EDT this evening, especially around the time of high tide. * IMPACTS...The Washington Harbour boardwalk will be covered. Low lying areas near Fletcher`s Boathouse will be flooded. More than a third of Roosevelt Island will be inundated. Rock Creek will experience backwater flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides one and a half to two feet above normal. The next high tide at Washington Channel is at 11:48 PM. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. && $$ CJL
