The coldest air of the season will build into West Texas tonight on breezy northerly winds. Despite winds decreasing early Sunday, wind chill values of 0 to 10 degrees will be common late tonight and early Sunday. Snow accumulations of a dusting to half inch will be possible, primarily on the Caprock tonight, as bands of snow move southward. This light snow will create black ice on roadways, overpasses, and other elevated surfaces, as well as reduced visibility when falling. Any snow will diminish by midnight. If venturing out tonight, use caution while traveling, and wear appropriate cold weather clothing. Bring pets indoors, or ensure that they have warm, dry shelter, food and unfrozen water. $$
