Isolated to scattered thunderstorms may form late today and this evening as a cold front moves southward through the South Plains region. The best chances for thunderstorms will mainly be to the east of the Caprock. A few storms could become strong to marginally severe with the main threat being wind gusts to near 60 mph. Locally heavy rainfall will also be possible. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday. Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are forecast to move across West Texas Friday night into early Saturday morning. Some storms may be severe and capable of producing damaging wind gusts. Locally heavy rainfall could result in some instances of flash flooding. Another round of thunderstorms is forecast to move across the region Saturday night. Some storms may be severe, with damaging wind gusts possible, along with a greater potential for localized flash flooding from heavy rainfall. Low chances for severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall remain forecast Sunday and into early next week. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not expected at this time. $$
