This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the South Plains, Rolling
Plains, and the far Southern Texas Panhandle.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Elevated to critical fire weather conditions are expected this
afternoon. A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 1 PM until 9 PM CDT
for most of the South Plains, and a Rangeland Fire Danger Statement
is in effect for the rest of the forecast area.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

A high wind event will bring extremely strong west winds, blowing
dust, and dangerous critical to extremely critical fire weather
conditions to the entire region on Friday. Sustained winds of 40 to
50 mph with gusts to 80 mph are expected, and travel may become very
difficult.

A High Wind Warning is in effect from 6 AM to 8 PM CDT Friday for the
entire forecast area. A Red Flag Warning is also in effect from 9 AM
to 10 PM CDT Friday for the entire forecast area.

A return of warm and breezy conditions next week will result in a
continuation of elevated to critical fire danger on Monday and
Tuesday.
