.DISCUSSION...
Winds will remain out of the southeast throughout the rest of the
afternoon and into tonight, with speeds near 10 mph or less. RH
values will continue to rapidly increase, rising above 80 percent
towards midnight tonight. Mixing heights will be shunted by the
thickening of a low stratus cloud deck, and will be followed by
an increasing potential showers and thunderstorms nearing sunrise
Saturday. Heavy rainfall is forecast. Strong wind gusts in excess
of 50 mph will be possible with the stronger storms, resulting
in sudden changes in wind direction in vicinity of these storms.
The greatest coverage of storms should be towards noontime CDT
tomorrow. Cloud-to-ground lightning will be a hazard.

West Texas Mesonet observations are down until further notice
due to a server error. Please use the Childress ASOS as the
nearest official observation in the interim. Confidence in the
prevailing wind and precipitation forecast is high.
