.DISCUSSION...
Breezy northerly winds around 15 to 20 mph this afternoon will
quickly diminish around sunset, with overnight lows dropping into
the upper teens to low 20s, with overnight recoveries near the 80th
percentile. Light and northerly winds will continue into tomorrow
with temperatures a few degrees cooler in the upper 30s to upper
40s. Minimum RH values above the 20th percentile, in combination
with the cooler conditions and low ERCs will help keep fire weather
concerns low. Fire weather concerns will increase some on Friday as
cyclogenesis across southeastern Colorado and northeastern New Mexico
results in increasing southwest winds, warmer temperatures, and lower
relative humidity. Some elevated to briefly near-critical conditions
could develop Friday afternoon mainly from the I-27 corridor eastward
to areas just east of the Caprock escarpment.
