.DISCUSSION...
Elevated fire danger is expected Monday afternoon across central
and northeast Missouri as well as west-central Illinois due to
the combination of dry fuels, gusty southwest winds, and low
relative humidity values (25-30%). Relative humidity values
could be lower than forecast if temperatures are higher or
dewpoints are lower. However, there is high confidence that
sustained wind speeds can`t be much higher than forecast.
Therefore, the chances of red flag conditions are very low
(near 10 percent).
Mixing heights will not be abnormally high Monday by any means,
topping out in the 3500-4250 feet AGL range for most. Similar
mixing is forecast on Tuesday, but lighter winds are forecast,
precluding the mention of elevated fire danger.
