Dry conditions are favored through the upcoming holiday weekend
with temperatures slightly below to near normal. High pressure
maintains weak surface flow with light and variable winds in the
overnight periods and largely remaining below 10 mph through the
daytime. Prevailing surface flow turns east-northeasterly Friday
afternoon behind a backdoor front (from the northeast) with
east-northeasterly flow persisting through Monday. Minimum
relative humidity is represented by values of 35-50% over much of
the area with mixing heights peaking 5,000-7,000 feet under
location that remain largely cloud-free. The exception will be
peak mixing heights of 3,000-4,000 feet over sections of
southeast Missouri where clouds remain thicker today.
