Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern/Central MO and Southwest IL
National Weather Service Saint Louis MO
500 AM CDT Fri Oct 17 2025

High temperatures will climb into the low to mid 80s this
afternoon while the minimum relative humidity falls to between
40 to 45 percent. Winds will be out of the south at 10 to 15 mph
with higher gusts. Mixing heights will climb above 1700 feet
around 11 am and will top out between 3500 feet AGL in south
central Illinois and 7000 feet in central Missouri this
afternoon. Low level instability should allow smoke to rise
rapidly and increasing transport winds will promote good
ventilation.

There will be an increasing chance for a wetting rain beginning
tonight over central and northeast Missouri as well as west
central Illinois, and across the entire area on Saturday and
Saturday evening. Temperatures will be cooler next week with
minimum relative humidity values in the 30s Sunday through
Wednesday.
