550 FZUS63 KMQT 060104 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 904 PM EDT Sat Oct 5 2024 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 30.2 inch high pressure is over the Lower Great Lakes this evening. A 29.3 inch low pressure near Lake Winnipeg will track over northern Ontario tonight as an associated 29.6 inch trough and cold front surge across Lake Superior. As the low weakens to 29.4 inches while moving to southern Hudson Bay on Sunday, 30.2 inch high pressure will build over the Plains. This high will evolve into a north-south oriented 30.2 inch high pressure ridge that will drift to the Middle and Upper Mississippi Valley during Monday night and then to the Great Lakes region during Tuesday and Wednesday. High pressure builds to 30.2 inches and extends southward into the lower Great Lakes Thursday.
