Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior
National Weather Service Marquette MI
904 PM EDT Sat Oct 5 2024

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...A 30.2 inch high pressure is over the Lower Great
Lakes this evening. A 29.3 inch low pressure near Lake Winnipeg
will track over northern Ontario tonight as an associated 29.6
inch trough and cold front surge across Lake Superior. As the low
weakens to 29.4 inches while moving to southern Hudson Bay on
Sunday, 30.2 inch high pressure will build over the Plains. This
high will evolve into a north-south oriented 30.2 inch high
pressure ridge that will drift to the Middle and Upper Mississippi
Valley during Monday night and then to the Great Lakes region
during Tuesday and Wednesday. High pressure builds to 30.2 inches
and extends southward into the lower Great Lakes Thursday.
