901 FZUS63 KMQT 111500 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 1000 AM EST Thu Dec 11 2025 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... As a 29.1 inch low pushes farther into the Maritime Provinces this morning, broad 30.1 inch ridging weakens to 30.0 inches while moving over the Mississippi Valley. This ridge then moves over the Great Lakes Friday morning before a trough quickly swings south from northern Ontario, deepening from 29.9 inches to 29.7 inches through the afternoon to evening hours of Friday. As this low exits to the east Saturday, a 30.6 inch high settles over the Dakotas Saturday evening. This high builds to 30.7 inches over Illinois Sunday evening and towards the Virginias by Monday morning. In its wake, a 29.9 inch trough will pass over Lake Superior Monday afternoon associated with a 29.7 inch low over Hudson Bay. 30.1 inch ridging resumes over the lake Monday night into Tuesday ahead of a 29.2 inch low moving into Manitoba Tuesday afternoon.
