636 FZUS63 KMQT 082101 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 400 PM EST Mon Dec 8 2025 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A 30.4 inch high over the Great Lakes today will shift east to Upstate New York this evening as a 29.8 inch low over the Canadian Prairie deepens to 29.6 inches while moving over Lake Superior by Tuesday morning. A stronger 29.3 inch low moving out of the Canadian Rockies will cross Lake Michigan at 29.2 inches Tuesday night, resulting in 29.5 inch troughing over Lake Superior into Wednesday. This low will move into New England at 29.2 inches by Wednesday night, allowing 30.5 inch high pressure to rebuild over the Northern Plains through Friday and shift east towards the Great Lakes during the weekend.
