Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

A 29.7 inch trough is swinging eastward towards the lake this
afternoon, extending south from a 29.5 inch low over Hudson Bay. The
trough exits eastward Wednesday morning. In its wake, a 30.5 inch
high builds over the Dakotas Wednesday evening. As this high shifts
into the Lower Midwest Thursday, it will pass a 30.2 inch ridge over
the lake. Meanwhile, a 29.7 inch low will move over Lake Winnipeg
before passing north of the lake overnight into Friday at 29.6
inches. Friday night, another 29.7 inch trough will pass over the
lake. Over the weekend, Lake Superior will be between a 30.3 inch
high over Saskatchewan and a low of 29.6 inches over Quebec, with
the high approaching Lake Superior late in the weekend to early next
week.
