252 FZUS63 KMQT 011501 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 1000 AM EST Mon Dec 1 2025 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A 30.4 inch high over the Lower Great Lakes this morning moves to New England by this evening while a weak 30.0 inch trough descends over Lake Superior from northern Ontario. As the trough deepens to 29.9 inches on Tuesday, a 29.7 inch low dives through southern Saskatchewan into the Northern Plains. The low weakens slightly to 29.8 inches Tuesday evening as it approaches Lake Superior. By Wednesday afternoon, the low deepens to 29.6 inches south of James Bay while a 30.5 inch high builds over the High Plains. The high shifts over the Central Plains Thursday morning before moving between the Great Lakes and Ohio River Valley Thursday evening. The high arrives over the Mid-Atlantic states on Friday as troughing down to 29.7 inches develops over Lake Superior.
