National Weather Service Marquette MI
359 PM EST Wed Jan 22 2025

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...A 29.9 inch low pressure over central Lake Superior
and Upper Michigan this afternoon will continue east over the lake
tonight. The low will then transition to a 30.0 inch trough by
the time it reaches the Lower Great Lakes by late Thursday. In its
wake, a 30.6 inch high pressure ridge moving out over the Plains
on Thursday will weaken to 30.4 inches as it shifts to the
Mississippi River Valley Thursday night and then to the southeast
U.S. on Saturday. Meanwhile, a 29.2 inch low pressure tracking
east to Hudson Bay will swing a 29.8 inch trough across the
Dakotas on Friday and to Lake Superior on Saturday. On Sunday, a
30.5 inch high will drift over the Central Plains, then a deep
29.0 inch low over northern Manitoba tracks southeast over far
northern Ontario through Monday.
