604 FZUS63 KMQT 150201 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 1001 PM EDT Tue Oct 14 2025 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A 30.4 inch high builds into Lake Superior this evening, eventually shifting across the Great Lakes and northern Ontario Wednesday as it weakens to around 30.3 inches. Ridging continues to weaken to 30.1 inches over Lake Superior through Thursday as troughing develops over the Plains and the parent high moves east. Thursday night through Friday, a deepening 29.3 inch low develops over the Northern Plains and lifts near to Lake Winnipeg. This low is projected to bring 29.5 to 29.6 inch troughing over Lake Superior Friday into Saturday as the low moves to Hudson Bay. By Sunday afternoon, another low develops over southern Ontario then lifts north towards Quebec as 29.7 inch ridging builds over Lake Superior.
