No major changes to the pattern through Monday as strong high pressure aloft continues to bring hot and dry conditions to the fire, capable of producing large vertical plume growth during peak heating hours. Winds will follow a typical upvalley/downvalley diurnal pattern. The highest winds are expected during the afternoon and early evening hours, with southerly/upvalley winds 5 to 10 mph and gusts up to 18 mph possible. Low humidities will continue on Sunday, with a slight uptick likely on Monday. A slight influx of mid level moisture may bring some afternoon cloud buildups near the fire. By Tuesday and Wednesday, there is a slightly better mid level monsoon moisture surge, bringing a 10-20 percent chance of thunderstorms to the eastern San Gabriels. At this time, it appears that that main risks with any new thunderstorms would be isolated dry lightning strikes and gusty outflow winds. .TONIGHT... Sky/weather.........Mostly clear.
