...Discussion from Monterey...

The center of a low pressure system was over the Pacific Northwest
with a weakening surface cool front extending southward across the
Bay Area and north Central Coast this afternoon. A cooler air mass
will move in from the west tonight through early Saturday. Clouds
and a few passing light showers or sprinkles will continue tonight
into Friday morning. Wet weather returns late weekend and early
next week.

Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified.
Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds.

...GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS THROUGH SATURDAY...

Besides humidites into the 12 to 25 percent range over the highest
peaks, cool and moist conditions will persist through Saturday with
a deep marine layer and patchy drizzle. Northwest winds will become
common through Saturday, peaking on Friday with gusts of 30 to
50 mph over the wind prone areas like Santa Barbara County, several
mountain areas (especially the I-5 Corridor), the Antelope Valley,
and some coastal areas. As series of storm systems will move through
California next week. The first will result in light rain and
minimal impacts. The second, likely in the Wednesday to Thursday
window, has a lot of uncertainty in the exact totals and timing. The
potential for heavy rain and major impacts however is very low.
