...Discussion from Monterey...

Clear skies, below normal temperatures, and moderate onshore winds
will prevail today. Widespread wetting rainfall and a chance for
thunderstorms returns late tomorrow morning. Scattered rain showers
and the chance for thunderstorms lingers into Tuesday. Any
thunderstorms that develop will pose the threats of lightning and
locally heavy rainfall. When all is said and done, one to three
inches of rainfall is expected. Warming and drying trend kicks off
Wednesday.

Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified.
Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds.

...Discussion from Los Angeles/Oxnard...

...ELEVATED TO BRIEF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TODAY ACROSS THE
MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS OF EASTERN VENTURA AND WESTERN LOS ANGELES
COUNTIES...

...POTENTIAL FOR WIDESPREAD RAIN ASSOCIATED WITH STORM BETWEEN
MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY...

For today, the flow has shifted to the northeast, mainly focusing on
eastern Ventura county and western LA county, where wind gusts of
20 to 40 mph will continue through mid afternoon. This coupled with
humidities between 10 and 20 percent will bring widespread elevated
to brief critical fire weather conditions across the mountains and
valleys of eastern Ventura county and western LA county today.

There is the potential for a significant storm system that could
bring widespread rain to the region between Monday night and
Tuesday. The latest projections have rainfall rates increasing,
with a chance of strong thunderstorms (mainly from Ventura county
northward), resulting in the potential for minor flooding/debris
flows in recent burn scars, as well as roadway flooding.
