...SIGNIFICANT WARMING AND DRYING THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK...

.DISCUSSION...

High pressure aloft will start to build over the region on Saturday,
which will kick off a significant warming and drying trend. High
temperatures in the 70s to lower 80s will be common Saturday through
Monday, rising to the mid 80s to mid 90s Wednesday and Thursday.
Minimum humidities in the 8 to 20 percent range will be common
during this warm period.

Northeast gusts of 15 to 25 mph are expected across the wind prone
corridor of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties Saturday morning. Local
gusts of 35 to 45 mph are possible across higher terrain in Los
Angeles County Mountains, the Santa Susana Mountains, and the Santa
Monica Mountains. Sunday, the flow will turn southwesterly winds
across much of the region with gusts of 15 to 30 mph, strongest
across the Antelope Valley foothills. Northwest to west winds will
be common for Monday through Thursday, with gusts of 30 to 50 mph
likely Monday and Tuesday for the Santa Barbara Southwest Coast and
the Los Angeles County Mountains including the Interstate 5
Corridor.

Winds will generally be localized and not long lasting, and
considering the continually rising fuel moistures due to the recent
rains, Red Flag Warnings will not be needed. There are no
significant chances of rain through at least the middle of April.
