Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Southwestern California
National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA
157 PM PDT Thu May 15 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Through this weekend, an overall troughing pattern and onshore flow is
expected. Minimum humidities away from the coast will generally stay in
the 20 to 40 percent range, except down to 12 to 25 percent for the
Antelope Valley and the highest interior mountain peaks. Humidities will
be the driest today and the moistest on Saturday through the weekend.
Areas of gusty northwest to southwest winds will occur at times. Winds
will be the strongest Saturday and Sunday, when gusts of 25 to 45 mph
will be common for the Antelope Valley and foothills, and Santa Barbara
southwest coast.

Monday into mid-to-late next week, a warming a drying trend is
expected, with temperatures rising to 85 to 95 degrees across the
valleys and deserts on Wednesday. Light offshore flow with mountain
gusts of 15 to 30 mph will be possible Monday and Tuesday, peaking
Tuesday. Expect relative humidities next week away from the coast to be
in the 15 to 25 percent range, except for 8 to 15 percent across the
deserts and the driest valleys and mountain peaks.
