...GUSTY OFFSHORE WINDS EXPECTED FOR LA/VENTURA COUNTIES ON MONDAY
AND AGAIN WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY...
.DISCUSSION...
Dry and mild conditions across the region today. Offshore winds with
gusts between 30 and 45 mph are expected Monday, mainly impacting the
typical wind prone areas of LA/Ventura counties, with humidities falling
to between 15 and 35 percent. Offshore flow is expected to weaken
some on Tuesday, and now expected to restrengthen on Wednesday and
Thursday as the next low pressure system passes to the east. At this
time, the strongest offshore winds are expected to be focused across
the LA county mountains where gusts of 50 to 60 mph will be possible.
Otherwise dry and mild conditions into next weekend.
NOTE...Beginning Sunday Dec 1...NWS WFO Los Angeles/Oxnard will
enter the off-season fire weather schedule (one fire weather
planning forecast issued by 330 PM Monday through Friday...and by
930 AM on Mondays and/or the first day following any federal
holiday). However spot forecasts will be available upon request at
any time 24/7.In addition...if critical fire weather conditions
occur we will restore normal fire weather season operations.
