Catalina and Santa Barbara Islands-
815 AM PST Tue Jan 21 2025

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON PST TODAY...
...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON PST TODAY...
...HIGH SURF WARNING IS CANCELLED...

Conditions have subsided below High Surf Warning criteria, but
sets to 7 feet are possible through noon today.

* WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 4 to
7 feet with dangerous rip currents possible. For the Coastal
  Flood Advisory, minor coastal flooding.

* WHERE...East facing beaches and harbors of Catalina and Santa
  Barbara Islands.

* WHEN...Until noon PST today.

* IMPACTS...Strong wind-induced waves may bring shallow flooding
along the beach areas as well as coastal walkways and roads like
Crescent Avenue and Saint Catherine Way. Flooding of sea water
is possible through noon today over vulnerable low- lying
coastal areas such as parking lots, beaches, and walkways.
Powerful waves and strong rip currents will pose an exceptional
risk of ocean drowning and damage to coastal structures like
piers and jetties. Breaking waves can cause injury, wash people
off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats near shore.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. Do
NOT drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.

Remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions, or stay
near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly in
such conditions, stay off the rocks.
