The areas affected include...

  Nearshore Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Wilmette Harbor...
  Open Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Wilmette Harbor out to Mid
Lake...

At 911 PM CDT, NWS meteorologists were tracking multiple outflow
boundaries from nearby thunderstorms. Automated equipment along the
lakeshore was measuring wind gusts up to 30 kt with the outflow
boundaries. Wind gusts up to 30 kt from variable directions are
expected in the marine weather statement area. A gust to 35 kt
cannot be ruled out.

If confidence increases in gale force winds occurring, a Special
Marine Warning will be issued.

Locations impacted include... Winthrop Harbor and Waukegan Harbor.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes.
