Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Northern IL and Northwest IN
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL
408 AM CDT Mon Jul 1 2024

.DISCUSSION...

High pressure will remain in control for today keeping dry and
seasonably cool conditions in play. Temperatures are expected to
be a few degrees warmer than yesterday with highs in the mid to
upper 70s, but humidity will be similar. Thus, minimum RH values
will dip into the 30-40% range for most of the area. Though, the
east-southeast winds will also be lighter so no fire concerns
today.

A storm system will begin to approach the area overnight which may
allow for a few showers and/or thunderstorms to impact portions of
north and northwestern IL, mainly north of I-88. While a few of
these showers/storm may linger into Tuesday near the IL-WI line,
mostly dry conditions are expected elsewhere until a cold front
moves in Tuesday night. Additional periods of showers and storms
are expected Wednesday through Friday as well with otherwise
typical July temperatures and humidity.
