Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Northern IL and Northwest IN
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL
320 PM CDT Thu Sep 19 2024

.DISCUSSION...
A few showers or thunderstorms may spread into northern Illinois
late tonight into early Friday morning, ahead of a weak cold front
which will approach the area from the west. A few isolated to
scattered showers and storms will also be possible along the front
Friday afternoon, mainly east of Interstate 55 across eastern
Illinois and northwest Indiana. Dry weather is then expected
Friday night into Saturday as weak surface high pressure drifts
through the region. Daytime temperatures will remain above average
both Friday and behind the weak cold front on Saturday, with
highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Much greater potential for more meaningful rain then arrives
Sunday into Monday, bringing with it a significant pattern change
which will see weather with daytime temperatures in the 70s next
week.
