The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southeastern Cook County in northeastern Illinois...
  Northeastern Will County in northeastern Illinois...

* Until 345 PM CDT.

* At 1245 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  rain rates up to 1.5 inches in 30 minutes from a small, intense
  thunderstorm moving slowly through the area. Up to 2.5 inches of
  rain have fallen. Rainfall amounts up to 3 inches are possible in
  the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage
           ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and
           other poor drainage areas.

* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
  Orland Park, Tinley Park, Calumet City, Chicago Heights, Lansing,
  Oak Forest, Harvey, Homer Glen, Blue Island, Dolton, Park Forest,
  Homewood, Matteson, Mokena, Frankfort, Steger, South Holland,
  Country Club Hills, Midlothian and Hazel Crest.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Warning means rapid-onset flooding is imminent or may
already be occurring. Persons along creeks, drainage ditches, and
other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life
and property.
