531 FZUS61 KBUF 081424 GLFLO Open Lake Forecast for Lake Ontario National Weather Service Buffalo NY 924 AM EST Wed Jan 8 2025 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Ontario Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 28.8 inch low will remain in place over the Canadian Maritimes through Thursday before moving out into the North Atlantic Friday. A ridge of high pressure averaging 30.3 inches will then build into the Ohio Valley and lower Great Lakes Thursday night through Friday. A 29.5 inch low will then move from the Southeast States Friday night to off the Mid Atlantic coast Saturday as a weak trough to the north of the low crosses the lower Great Lakes. A 30.2 inch high will move into the Ohio Valley Sunday.
