549 FZUS61 KBUF 281423 GLFLO Open Lake Forecast for Lake Ontario National Weather Service Buffalo NY 923 AM EST Fri Feb 28 2025 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Ontario Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 29.2 inch low over the Upper Great Lakes will track by just to the north of the lake tonight. The low will then cross the Adirondacks and New England on Saturday. A large 30.3 inch high centered over the Upper Mississippi valley Saturday evening will cross the Upper Great Lakes and extend to the Ohio valley overnight then will cross the Lower Great Lakes Sunday and Monday. A 29.5 inch low will then develop near Nebraska on Tuesday, strengthening as it tracks into Illinois Tuesday night.
