792 FZUS61 KBUF 061401 GLFLO Open Lake Forecast for Lake Ontario National Weather Service Buffalo NY 1001 AM EDT Sun Oct 6 2024 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Ontario Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 30.4 inch surface high centered over the Labrador sea will stretch south over New England this afternoon, and then continue to push east. A strong cold front over lower Michigan will plow across southern Ontario this afternoon then across Lake Ontario this evening. A 30.1 inch high over the Upper Mississippi valley Monday morning will expand across the Upper Great Lakes and Ohio valley late Monday through Tuesday. This area of high pressure will be found across the entire Great Lakes region Wednesday and Thursday.
