714 FZUS61 KBUF 050222 GLFLO Open Lake Forecast for Lake Ontario National Weather Service Buffalo NY 922 PM EST Wed Dec 4 2024 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Ontario Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 29.3 inch low will track from just north of Lake Superior this afternoon to the Saint Lawrence Valley by early Thursday, then a secondary coastal low will deepen to 28.8 inches over the Canadian Maritimes Thursday night and Friday. A weak trough averaging 30.1 inches will cross the Saint Lawrence Valley Saturday. Meanwhile a 30.4 inch high will settle into the Southeast States Saturday then move off the Carolina coast Sunday. The next 29.6 inch surface low centered over northern Wisconsin Monday will gradually fill in to 29.8 inches by Tuesday, supporting a warm front so slide across the lake.
