Low pressure around 29.4 inches over the Canadian Prairies will progress toward Hudson Bay as it deepens to 29.0 inches today. The low is forecast to linger over Hudson Bay on Tuesday, dragging a cold front across Lake Michigan during the morning hours Tuesday. Scattered showers are expected over the northern two-thirds of Lake Michigan along and ahead of the advancing front. Gusty northwest winds will quickly become established behind the front on Tuesday. Gales are not expected at this time, though winds to around 30 knots are likely over the southern third of the lake. High pressure of 30.1 inches will then push through the central Plains and lower Missouri Valley Tuesday, before moving into the Mid Atlantic on Wednesday. Winds will turn more southerly Wednesday in response, with increasing gusts over the northern half of the lake. Another front is then expected Thursday into Friday, with northerly winds expected behind the front.
