525 FZUS63 KMKX 191351 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 851 AM CDT Sat Apr 19 2025 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Drier conditions and lighter northerly winds are expected today as high pressure around 30.2 inches begins to build in from the west. Variable winds are expected overnight tonight as the high pushes over Lake Michigan and builds to around 30.5 inches. High pressure quickly shifts eastward on Sunday as low pressure lifts into the area from the southern Plains. Expect increasing east to northeasterly winds to develop Sunday as Lake Michigan sits in between the departing high and an approaching low. As the low pressure lifts northeastward across the northern half of Lake Michigan, it will deepen to around 29.5 inches Monday with southerly winds ahead of it during the day then becoming northwest behind it Monday night. Higher waves are expected on to accompany the breezier southerly winds, particularly across the central half of the lake.
