...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF EAST CENTRAL
TERREBONNE AND CENTRAL LAFOURCHE PARISHES THROUGH 445 AM CDT
...

At 401 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm
capable of producing waterspouts over marine areas over Chauvin, or
13 miles southeast of Houma, moving north at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Waterspouts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
         hazardous waters.

Locations impacted include...
Houma, Larose, Cut Off, Montegut, and Chauvin.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

If on or near marine areas, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from
the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be
caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
