Coastal waters from the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River to Port Fourchon Louisiana out 20 NM... * Until 315 AM CST. * At 221 AM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 32 nm south of Louisiana Offshore Oil Port, or 44 nm south of Timbalier Island, moving northeast at 50 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves.
