The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Coastal waters from Pascagoula Mississippi to Stake Island
  Louisiana out 20 to 60 NM...
  Coastal waters from Pascagoula Mississippi to Stake Island out 20
  NM...

* Until 130 PM CDT.

* At 1125 AM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of
  producing waterspouts was located along a line extending from 23 nm
  east of Chandeleur Sound to 33 nm south of Horn Island, moving east
  at 10 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage
           vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves.
           Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves.

* The cluster of severe thunderstorms will remain over mainly open
  waters.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should avoid waterspouts and never try to navigate near them.
Move to safe harbor or shelter immediately until the threat passes.
