Added information for 6 tornado tracks in southwestern Mississippi (tornados 1-6) as well as a summary of survey results from Pointe Coupee Parish. It should be noted that it is likely some of the tracks in Wilkinson County may be longer than what is represented in the information below. However, ground survey efforts were limited by dense forest and a lack of accessible roads crossing the suspected tornado tracks. Tracks may be extended if data from aerial surveys and/or high resolution satellite support the extension. ..Tornado 1 - NE of Gloster, MS... The track may extend farther west and east, but a lack of accessible roads limited the ground survey. ..Tornado #7 - Lacombe, LA... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 1.15 miles Path Width /maximum/: 50 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 12/28/2024 Start Time: 08:47 PM CST Start Location: 2 ESE Lacombe / St. Tammany Parish / LA Start Lat/Lon: 30.3 / -89.8976 End Date: 12/28/2024 End Time: 08:51 PM CST End Location: 3 E Lacombe / St. Tammany Parish / LA End Lat/Lon: 30.2993 / -89.8784 Survey Summary: An EF-1 tornado with winds of 90 mph and a maximum width of 50 yards touched down at the intersection of Transmitter Rd. and Clesi Ave. where a few small softwood pine trees were snapped. The tornado traveled to the east on the south side of Clesi Ave. and directly impacted a single wide mobile home. The back porch of the mobile home was removed and this caused the metal roof covering to partially fail. The roof covering was tossed to the north and north-east with some of the roof landing approximately 100 yards to the east-northeast in a neighbors yard. the mobile was properly strapped in, but still shifted about 3 inches on the concrete piers. A window was also broken on the south facing side of the house and all of the skirting was removed. A softwood pine tree was snapped and pointing to the WSW in the yard. The snapped tree also broke a power pole that was in the yard and served as the power connection for the home. A snapped tree was observed in the neighbors back yard where the roof the mobile had landed and it was pointing to the ESE. Tree damage was observed in the woods at the end of Clesi Ave. in the form of broken off large branches on softwood pine trees. The tornado then traveled through a wooded area before encountering Pine Ridge Rd. Two softwood pine trees were snapped and were pointing to the SE in a yard. Further to the east, more snapped pine trees were observed along Tranquility Rd. These trees were snapped toward to the NE and ENE. Tree damage continued into the woods across Tranquility Road, but no damage was observed further downstream marking this as the end point of the tornado. ..Straight Line Wind Damage - Pointe Coupee Parish.. Survey Summary: A survey conducted in Pointe Coupee Parish found a broad area of snapped branches with no clear evidence of a tornado within the damage field. The survey team estimated the winds through this area were around 60 mph. && EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories: EF0.....65 to 85 mph EF1.....86 to 110 mph EF2.....111 to 135 mph EF3.....136 to 165 mph EF4.....166 to 200 mph EF5.....>200 mph NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the events and publication in NWS Storm Data. $$ PG/DM/JZ/LN
